Tallest Pancake Stack
Andy Wrobel, of Melbourne’s The Pancake Parlour, celebrated Shrove Tuesday, International Pancake Day building ‘ The World’s Tallest Stack of Pancakes" and reaching 76cms.
Watch The Pancake Parlour set the record on Tuesday, 21st February 2012 - with a 76cm stack - using 60 buckwheat pancakes.
Andy flips over 100,000 pancakes per year and has cooked more than three million pancakes in his 27 year career with the company.
According to Andy, he holds the unofficial world record for the most number of pancakes cooked by a chef.
Pancakes needed to be freestanding and stacked one on top of each other. Ingredients included over 20 litres of pancake mix.
On Shrove Tuesday, families eat up all the eggs, milk and fats in the house by making pancakes. In England, the popularity of cooking pancakes caused Shrove Tuesday, to be more commonly known as Pancake Day!
